Mr.
Surya Bahadur Thakali
President, Nepal Council for
Preservation of
Buddhist Religion

The up surging
violence and terror in the world has almost occupied each
and very one’s peaceful mind and has forced the world towards a
state of pandemonium. The way shown by lord Buddha has been
erased so far. Despite the state of prevailing disarray in the
world, consolidated feelings of creating peace of mind among the
people in the world, came within our mind.
By
keeping the feelings of maintaining peace, Nepal Bouddha Dharma
Samrakshan Samiti and its Japanese counterpart organization
Mandala 21st Century jointly decided to initiate an
ambitious project of constructing a grand Thanka (Patch Work).
Thanka, the inscribed philosophies with the symbols,
invocations, prayers and spiritual mantras, has been regarded as
one of the best way of displaying the philosophies of Buddha.
We feel proud
of completing this big campaign and sharing the philosophies of
Buddha among all the people in the world.
The
Thanka that measures 70x50 meter square in size has not only
covered Buddha’s philosophies but also has connected every
beings with the strong thread of fraternity. I hope this work
will emphasize every one to move on along the way of peace. The
peace message and reinforcement given by Guru the Dalai Lama
added further towards the success.
All my
dreams got real sense only after receiving the valuable supports
and endowments of my friend Yashutada Katagiri. But for my
friend’s support, I would have remained as an incomplete
explorer. I extend my gratitude to him for his benediction. I
would like to express my gratitude to Masaki Kitamura, without
whom it would have been almost impossible for me to get
connected to Yasutada Katagiri.
Lastly,
I want to thank all the volunteers of sixteen nations who
contributed their precious time in accomplishing the mission.
Thank you! |
